The Molotovs Announce Surprise Free Show at London’s Coal Drops Yard

Notting Hill Music signings The Molotovs have announced a surprise open-air performance at Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross tomorrow night, Thursday 13 August.

The band will take to the stage at 7:45pm, headlining the opening night of King’s Cross Summer Sounds 2026. The concert is completely free to attend, with live music beginning at 6:30pm.

Presented by Bowie Nights in partnership with Lightroom, the special show will celebrate David Bowie’s enduring influence on a new generation of artists. Each act appearing during the evening will incorporate a Bowie cover or two into their set, with The Molotovs set to deliver a unique tribute alongside their own sharp, high-energy anthems.

The band will be joined by alternative artist Ashaine White and Jack Kaye, formerly of The Magic Gang and now embarking upon a new chapter as a solo artist.

The performance follows a huge period for The Molotovs, which has seen their debut album ‘Wasted on Youth’ reach Number 3 in the charts, an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show and an arena tour with Yungblud. The band have also shared stages with The Libertines, Sex Pistols, Blondie, Iggy Pop and The Damned, while receiving praise from Green Day and Paul Weller.

The show arrives shortly before The Molotovs embark upon their ‘Welcome To Urbia’ UK tour this September. A second date at London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum has already been added on 26 September after the first sold out.

King’s Cross Summer Sounds runs at Coal Drops Yard from 13–23 August, presenting free live music and performances spanning indie rock, jazz, soul, folk, classical music and dance.

The Molotovs perform at 7:45pm tomorrow, Thursday 13 August, at Coal Drops Yard, Stable Street, King’s Cross, London, N1C 4DQ. Entry is free.
