The Dress Rehearsal Releases New Album ‘A Different Frequency’
Today sees the release of A Different Frequency, the brand new album from The Dress Rehearsal, the musical project of Scottish songwriter David Milne.
The album marks the second full-length release from Milne and finds him continuing to refine a sound that effortlessly bridges classic and contemporary influences. Rooted in timeless songwriting and musical craftsmanship, A Different Frequency draws inspiration from some of music's most iconic artists while bringing a fresh and forward-thinking perspective to the table.
Across the album, listeners will hear echoes of The Beatles' melodic sensibilities, the expressive guitar work of Jimi Hendrix, the scale and energy of Led Zeppelin, and the lush harmonies synonymous with The Beach Boys. Rather than simply paying tribute to those influences, Milne uses them as a foundation to create something distinctly his own - a record that feels both familiar and refreshingly modern.
Recorded with producer and engineer Jamie Holmes at Glasgow's renowned Castle of Doom Studios, A Different Frequency captures the warmth, ambition and musical depth that sit at the heart of The Dress Rehearsal's songwriting. The collaboration has resulted in a collection of songs that balances rich arrangements and memorable melodies with thoughtful lyrics and contemporary production.
As a follow-up to his debut album, A Different Frequency represents another significant step forward for David Milne as a songwriter and artist. Confident in its vision and expansive in its musical scope, the album showcases an artist continuing to evolve while remaining committed to the craft of great songwriting.
A Different Frequency is available now on all major streaming platforms.
