The Molotovs Release Brand-New Single “Urbia”

The Molotovs have released their brand-new single, “Urbia”, available everywhere now.

The new track marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for siblings Matt and Issey Cartlidge, arriving just months after their debut album, Wasted On Youth, entered the UK Albums Chart at No.3.

Already familiar to fans from the band’s live shows, “Urbia” turns its attention towards life in the modern city and the disconnection, pressure and uncertainty experienced by a new generation. The track retains the immediacy and sharp songwriting that have powered The Molotovs’ rapid rise while introducing the wider world surrounding their next era.

The release follows the band’s recent Kerrang! cover story, in which Matt and Issey spoke in a world-exclusive interview about their forthcoming album and the creative chemistry at the heart of The Molotovs.

The band have described the new record as an interpretation of the modern metropolis and the sense of disconnection felt by young people. Despite exploring decline and uncertainty, they have promised that the music will ultimately retain the optimism and defiance that run throughout their work.

“Urbia” also lends its name to The Molotovs’ biggest headline tour to date. The Welcome To Urbia tour is now underway, taking the band across the UK and Ireland before continuing into Europe, with several dates already sold out.

Alongside its digital release, “Urbia” is available as a limited physical edition. Only 2,000 CD singles and 1,000 cassettes have been produced worldwide, with both formats featuring an exclusive B-side.

Congratulations to our brilliant writers Matt and Issey on the beginning of another hugely exciting chapter.
