Twin Atlantic Release New Single ‘Supersweetness’
Twin Atlantic have released their brilliant new single, ‘Supersweetness’, the latest track taken from their forthcoming eighth studio album, Separation From The Animals.
Released last week, ‘Supersweetness’ offers a warmer and more uplifting glimpse into the band’s next chapter. The soaring track was inspired by frontman Sam McTrusty’s love for his children, with his young daughters joining him on backing vocals.
Speaking about the meaning behind the song, McTrusty described the bittersweet feeling of loving his children so intensely that it almost hurts. That overwhelming emotion runs through the track, combining deeply personal songwriting with the huge, open-hearted sound that has become synonymous with Twin Atlantic.
‘Supersweetness’ follows previous singles ‘Don’t Quit It’ and ‘In Your Eyes’ and will feature on the Glasgow band’s forthcoming album, Separation From The Animals, arriving on 2 October via Dance To The Radio.
The new record finds McTrusty reflecting candidly on family, identity and his personal history following his move from Scotland to Toronto. It also marks the first Twin Atlantic album in several years to feature contributions from all four founding members.
Across almost two decades and eight studio albums, Twin Atlantic have continually evolved while retaining the emotional honesty and anthemic songwriting at the heart of their music. ‘Supersweetness’ is another powerful addition to that catalogue and an exciting taste of what is still to come.
We’re incredibly proud to represent Twin Atlantic.
‘Supersweetness’ is out now on all major streaming platforms, with Separation From The Animals arriving on 2 October.
