David Forbes Contributes to New Scotland World Cup Anthem 'Keep It Tribal'

Congratulations to Notting Hill Music writer/producer David Forbes, who is part of the creative team behind Keep It Tribal, a new anthem celebrating Scotland's qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Released today by Scottish collective The Scheme, the ambitious project was created to capture the emotion, pride and unity surrounding one of the most significant moments in recent Scottish sporting history as the national team prepares to return to football's biggest stage.

Written and produced by internationally acclaimed DJ and producer Ewan McVicar alongside songwriter Stuart Crichton, Keep It Tribal combines contemporary production with spoken word, poetry and traditional Scottish instrumentation to create a powerful and uniquely Scottish sound. David Forbes joined the project as a producer, working alongside Kevin Burleigh to help bring the record to life.

The track features an impressive cast of contributors, including acclaimed actor Tommy Flanagan, poet Bryce Drennan and renowned tribal drum and pipe collective Clanadonia. Together, the collaborators have created a piece that extends beyond football, celebrating Scottish culture, identity and community.

Rather than creating a traditional football anthem, The Scheme sought to produce something rooted in Scotland itself - a record that reflects both the country's heritage and its modern creative spirit. The result is a rallying cry for supporters ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and a celebration of the cultural connections that unite people across the nation.

The anthem received its world premiere during Ewan McVicar's headline performance at Pavilion Festival in Ayrshire, where it was unveiled alongside Clanadonia in front of thousands of fans before its official release.

David's involvement in such a high-profile national project showcases his continued impact as one of Scotland's most respected electronic music producers and songwriters. We are delighted to see him contribute to a release that brings together some of the country's leading creative voices at such a historic moment.

Congratulations to David and everyone involved in The Scheme on the release of Keep It Tribal.
