Twin Atlantic release new album ‘Separation From The Animals’ (Copy)
Notting Hill Music signings Twin Atlantic release their new album, ‘Separation From The Animals’, today, 2 October, via Dance To The Radio.
Featuring the singles ‘In Your Eyes’, ‘Don’t Quit It’ and ‘Supersweetness’, the 12-track album follows 2024’s ‘Meltdown’. It was recorded between Abbey Road Studios in London, Castle of Doom in Glasgow and frontman Sam McTrusty’s studio in Toronto, with the band’s original four members contributing to the record.
Much of the writing began after McTrusty moved to Canada with his family. Working from his new home, he turned his attention to fatherhood, friendships and experiences he was only beginning to make sense of, while bandmate Ross McNae helped shape the album as co-producer.
Those songs draw on classic ’60s and ’70s influences, alongside the big choruses that have long been central to Twin Atlantic’s sound. For McTrusty, the thread running through the record is straightforward: “The arc of the record is just about perseverance.”
The connection to Scotland remains strong, too. The artwork features photography taken in the Highlands by Steve Gullick, bringing a sense of home to an album made on both sides of the Atlantic.
With an October tour ahead, the band will soon be taking the new songs to audiences across the UK.
‘Separation From The Animals’ is out now. Congratulations to Twin Atlantic and the team behind the record.
