The Molotovs Announce Second Studio Album ‘Welcome To Urbia’
The Molotovs have officially announced their hugely anticipated second studio album, Welcome To Urbia, arriving on 9 April 2027 through Marshall Records - and it is available to pre-order now.
The announcement comes just six months after the release of the band’s debut album, Wasted On Youth, which crashed into the Official UK Albums Chart at Number Three. Now, with barely a pause for breath, Matt and Issey Cartlidge are already launching the next chapter of one of the most exciting rises in British guitar music.
Alongside the announcement, The Molotovs have released the album’s driving title track, “Urbia.” Darker, bigger and more expansive, the song offers the first glimpse into a record inspired by modern city life, disconnection and the determination to find hope amid the chaos.
Welcome To Urbia was recorded at London’s legendary Konk Studios, founded by The Kinks, with acclaimed producer Tony Hoffer, whose previous credits include Beck, The Kooks, M83 and Belle and Sebastian.
The album arrives during a phenomenal period for The Molotovs. Following the Top Three success of Wasted On Youth, national television appearances and major support shows, the band are currently taking their explosive live show across the country on the Welcome To Urbia tour - including two sold-out nights at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town.
With ten new tracks and an even more ambitious sound, Welcome To Urbia looks set to take everything The Molotovs have achieved so far and push it to another level.
The new era starts now.
Welcome To Urbia arrives on 9 April 2027 and is available to pre-order today. The title track “Urbia” is out now across all major streaming platforms.
Huge congratulations to The Molotovs and the entire team!
