Kurupt FM Announce UK Tour With New Shows Added Due to Demand
Kurupt FM are heading across the UK this December for their newly announced GDWDMA Tour, featuring Notting Hill Music songwriter Hugo Chegwin as the unmistakable DJ Beats.
The original run of shows in Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham and London has already received an incredible response, with additional dates in Brighton and Glasgow now added due to exceptional demand.
Kurupt FM first rose to fame through the BAFTA-winning BBC mockumentary series People Just Do Nothing, which followed the brilliantly chaotic crew behind Brentford’s premier pirate radio station. Since then, the group have grown into a genuine live phenomenon, performing at major festivals and venues across the country while bringing their unique combination of UK garage, comedy and total onstage chaos to audiences.
Alongside playing DJ Beats, Hugo Chegwin was one of the creators of People Just Do Nothing and has played an integral role in Kurupt FM’s music. The group’s 2021 album, The Greatest Hits (Part 1), reached the UK Top 10 and included collaborations with artists including Craig David, D Double E, MIST, Jaykae and General Levy.
The forthcoming tour takes its name from Kurupt FM’s new project, GDWDMA — short for Grindah’s Decided We’re Doing Music Again. The new EP arrives on 21 August and has already been previewed through tracks including “Feelings”, “Tek Time” and “Reload”.
